I made this crisp today to bring to a Dia de los muertos feast. It just so happens that I did not bring the address or directions. Silly me thought I knew where I was going, because I had been there once before. My girls and I ended up driving up and down a mountain for about an hour and a half, looking for a little parking lot filled with cars. We did not have internet or cell service on the mountain, so I could not even call Dominic to see if he could look up the address of the feast. We were so close, so i just kept driving and looking. Thankfully Georgia took a nap, buying me a little more time.
Needless to say, I was super frustrated, and when we got home, so I took a spoon to the crisp. My darling husband had to pry the spoon from my fingers, or I would have eaten the entire thing, in all its deliciousness, standing at the kitchen counter. Don’t tell Dominic, but I keep sneaking in the kitchen for little spoonfuls. Oh, by the way, if you don’t already know, I stress eat.
This crisp is gluten free, dairy free, and sweetened with fresh squeezed orange juice and dates. I would even feel good about serving this for breakfast, minus the ice cream.
Serve it hot or warm, with or without a scoop of ice cream. I hope you make this recipe and share it with your family and friends.

That looks really yummy. I might have to try that very soon. I’m sorry your plans didn’t work out.
Hi Krista, Thank you for taking the time to read my blog and post a comment! It is really yummy! I have an idea, we can make it together, and then sit it across our laps, and take spoons to it. Wouldn’t that be fun? Thank you, I should have brought the address and directions with me, I was really looking forward to the party. Next time.
