Baked Spiced Yam Steak Fries

Spiced Yam Steak Fries

I was at our local market the other day and saw some sweet potatoes and yams, side by side in bowls. As I stood there with gaping mouth, looking at the two bowls, I recalled reading somewhere recently, that yams are supposed to be sweeter. I placed 3 medium sized yams in my cart.

When I place something in my cart at the store, it is sometimes just a thought bubble, and does not have a purpose right away. I picked these yams up however, with a delicious purpose in mind. A few minutes before I was at the meat counter and added some Painted Hill organic ground beef to my cart. And that morning, I baked two loaves of heavenly bread that tasted amazing toasted.

I went home and baked spiced yam steak fries. They were delicious with our  grilled  hamburgers, served open faced, on toasted pieces of my heavenly homemade bread.

  5. Cut the halves in thirds lengthwise

  11. Dominic eats them plain, and our girls and I, dip them in ketchup. I think they would also be delicious dipped in a homemade aioli.
