- 2 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
- 3/4 cup butter, melted
- 3 tablespoons white sugar
- 2 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup white sugar
- 1 1/2 cups of cream, whipped to stiff peeks
- 1 (6 oz) packages strawberry flavored gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 1 (10 oz) bag frozen strawberries
- 1 (10 oz) bag of frozen mixed berries
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees F
- Melted butter
- Stir 3 tablespoons sugar into melted butter to dissolve
- Pour melted butter sugar mixture into bowl of crushed pretzels
- Mix well
- Press pretzel mixture into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish
- Bake 8 to 10 minutes, until set
- Set dish aside to cool
- In a large mixing bowl cream together cream cheese and 1 cup sugar
- Fold in whipped cream
- Spread mixture onto cooled pretzel crust
- Dissolve gelatin in boiling water
- Stir in still frozen strawberries and allow to set briefly
- When mixture is about the consistency of egg whites, pour and spread over cream cheese layer
- Refrigerate for 1 hour or until set
- This salad is better the next day
