- 1 Tbsp butter to grease a pan
- Enough rinsed, stemmed and pitted cherries to fill your favorite ovenware
- 2-3 cups oats (for topping)
- 1-2 tsp cinnamon (for topping)
- 2-3 Tbsp brown sugar (for topping)
- 4-6 Tbsp butter (for topping)
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Butter your favorite ovenware pan
- Pile in the cherries up to the rim
- Make topping by mixing above ingredients with hands
- Sprinkle topping liberally over cherries
- Place pan on sheet tray in case it bubbles over
- Place sheet tray in hot oven for 40-50 minutes or until topping is lightly toasted and cherries are bubbling
- Allow crisp to cool a bit
- Layer in clear glass between yogurt, and berries
- Would make an awesome layer in a red, white and blue trifle for July 4th
