Sauteed Brussels Sprouts with Apples and Onions

  • 20 Brussels sprouts, sliced
  • 1 large crisp apple(I used a fuji), medium chopped
  • 1 medium yellow onion, sliced
  • 2 Tbsp grapeseed oil, or extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/4 tsp sea salt
  • 4 grinds black pepper
  • 1 cup of apple cider
  1. Slice old stem of Brussels sprouts, clean and peel outer layer
  2. Peel and chop apple
  3. Slice onion
  4. Add oil to large saute pan
  5. Saute sprouts, apple and onion to pan
  6. Add salt and pepper
  7. Saute until little brown bits start appearing on the bottom of pan
  8. Deglaze pan with some apple cider, scrape all the yummy dark bits off the bottom of the pan with a wooden spoon
  9. Saute until all the apple cider is cooked down
  10. Taste throughout the cooking process, and salt and pepper accordingly
  11. Enjoy
